For this volume in the Chicago Blues Session series we have chosen a number of fine out-takes of varions sessions held in Chicago, featuring some of the finest bluesmen having recorded for the WOLF label. Note Nick Holt’s fine vocals on Need Some Good Lovin”, with the whole band providing the background vocals. Also featured is one of John Primer’s own compositions, Boat Dock’.
Magic Slim contributes the first three songs to the album; A 1 and A 3 are unreleased titles from the September 1986 session, which eventually produced the 1987 award winning album, .Chicago Blues Session’ Volume 3 (Wolf 120.849).
We also included three hitherto unissued cuts by Alabama Jr. Pettis. Junior sadly passed away in 1987.
