Brenda Taylor, daughter of Chicago Blues Legend Eddie ´Big Toron Playboy` Taylor and Vera Taylor. Eddie coached Brenda the blues and after his death 1985 her mother Vera kept the family legacy functioning. After Vera´s death 1999, Brenda started to olay with her brothers and sisters at different blues festivals. Mainly at the Chicago Blues Festival. The new album “Buggy Ride” is Brenda Taylors first CD of her own and there is a great band behind her, her brothers Tim and Eddie Taylor Jr, Illinois Slim, Freddie Dixon and Harmonica Hinds. On this Album you can find a great list of traditional blues songs mixed with modern blues!

Brenda Taylor´s Brother Eddie Taylor Jr.

Edward Taylor, better known as Eddie Taylor Jr., was an American Chicago blues and electric blues guitarist, singer and songwriter. He released six studio albums, and a compilation album of his better known tracks, all on the European-based label, Wolf Records. Among the musicians who worked in Taylor’s backing band was his fellow guitar player Johnny B. Moore. Taylor also supported other musicians including Moore, Little Arthur Duncan, Willie Kent and Hubert Sumlin, plus Buddy Guy, Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, and Billy Gibbons.

His father was Eddie Taylor, another Chicago blues musician. His step-brother Larry Taylor is a blues drummer and vocalist, and his sister Demetria is a blues vocalist in Chicago. Taylor’s mother, Vera (Leevera), was the niece of the bluesmen Eddie “Guitar” Burns and Jimmy Burns.
